Yes, I love movies. There are several reasons why I love movies - entertainment, storytelling and emotional connections with characters.

I usually watch movies in my home.
What do you look for in a movie? Is there a specific genre?
When I watch movies I need there to be a good storyline and plot that keeps me interested. I like relatable characters. My favorite movies are romantic comedies, mysteries and documentaries.

I don't have any outside source that informs my viewing. Sometimes I see trailers that are interesting. I don't gravitate to specific actors.
Do you have a favorite movie? If you can remember, what was it like watching it for the first time?
My favorite movie is The Holiday. The first time I saw this movie I was blown away by the story (relatable), characters (relatable and multigenerational), the music and the happy ending. I will never forget learning what a "meet cute" was for the first time.
Midnight in Paris is another one of my favorites - the historical references of iconic figures from the 1920's and the interweaving with the present day was brilliant. Romance and nostalgia - who can go wrong with that?

If you can remember, what’s the first movie you remember seeing?
I think the first movie that I remember seeing was The Sting with Robert Redford and Paul Newman. I went to the theater with my aunts. I don't remember much about my experience other than recalling that was the first time I noticed how handsome Robert Redford was.
Do you have a specific memory you have with a specific movie (not necessarily your favorite)?
I remember going to the drive-in with my parents when I was very young. The movie was Food of the Gods. I remember being terrified of the giant rats.
What do you think is the best process in selecting a film to watch?
For me, the best process in selecting a film is to read the summary and watch trailers.
Do you think your relationship with movies has changed since you started watching?
Yes, I think my relationship with movies has definitely changed. I use movies as an escape, and prefer feel good movies. I am less open to watching thrillers or popular movies just because their are popular. If it doesn't give me an escape or teach me something, I'd rather pass.
Movie Memories:
It's a Wonderful Life is another movie that has impacted me. It has become a multigenerational tradition to watch that movie every year at Christmas. I love passing the love of this film on to my kids. No man is a failure who has friends.....you gotta love Clarence!
Final Thoughts: Movies are a way to connect people. Now I get to share movie watching experiences with my grandkids.
